CPI(M) Wins Thrikkodithanam Division in Bypolls

The CPI(M) has won the Thrikkodithanam division of the Kottayam district panchayat, wresting the seat from the UDF. CPI(M) candidate Manju Sujith secured 16,280 votes, defeating Kerala Congress candidate Vijay Jose Marett. The UDF maintained its overall edge in the local body bypolls across Kottayam and Pathanamthitta districts. In Pathanamthitta, the UDF won all contested seats, including some by narrow margins. Several other wards in Kottayam also saw close contests and victories for Congress and CPI(M) candidates.
