Meta Platforms and Google are poised to gain nearly ₹1 lakh crore in paper profit from their 2020 investment in Jio Platforms, based on the IPO's upper price band. Neither company is selling any shares in the ₹30,200 crore IPO, which comprises new shares. This allows them to retain their stakes while significantly increasing the valuation of their investments. Meta and Google invested approximately ₹77,310 crore in 2020 and their holdings could now be valued at nearly ₹1.77 lakh crore, reflecting a substantial unrealised gain.
