Sugar Prices Surge 40% Across India

Sugar prices have surged dramatically across India, increasing by approximately 40% in the past year and up to 50% in certain states. In eight states, including Uttarakhand, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha, the price has exceeded ₹65 per kilogram. The national average retail price reached ₹62.47 per kilogram on August 23, a significant rise from last year.
