Six Employees Arrested for Diverting ₹12 Lakhs Via Duplicate QR Code

Six employees of a battery-operated vehicle service provider at Manipal Institute of Technology campus have been arrested for allegedly diverting passenger fares amounting to Rs 12 lakh. The accused allegedly stopped using the company's official QR code from April 1, 2026, and created a personal merchant QR code to collect fares. The money was diverted to a bank account held by the wife of one of the accused and later distributed among them.

मणिपाल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी कैंपस में बैटरी से चलने वाले वाहन सेवा प्रदाता के छह कर्मचारियों को कथित तौर पर 12 लाख रुपये के यात्री किराए को डायवर्ट करने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया है। आरोपियों ने कथित तौर पर 1 अप्रैल, 2026 से कंपनी के आधिकारिक क्यूआर कोड का उपयोग करना बंद कर दिया और किराए वसूलने के लिए एक व्यक्तिगत मर्चेंट क्यूआर कोड बनाया। यह पैसा कथित तौर पर आरोपी में से एक की पत्नी के बैंक खाते में डायवर्ट किया गया और बाद में उनमें आपस में बांट दिया गया।
