Farmer Loses Crop Due to Adulterated Seeds, Wins Small Compensation

Faridabad farmer Rameshwar Sharma rented land and invested his savings in radish seeds, only to find his crop developing pods instead of radishes. The entire crop was ruined and unsellable. Sharma then pursued a three-year legal battle against the seed seller, seeking ₹2 lakh for his losses and legal fees. The consumer forum ruled in his favor, ordering the seller to pay ₹50,000 in compensation. Sharma expressed dissatisfaction, stating the compensation barely covers his legal expenses and the initial investment loss.

फरीदाबाद के किसान रामेश्वर शर्मा ने जमीन किराए पर ली और मूली के बीज में अपनी बचत लगाई, लेकिन पता चला कि मूली की जगह फली लग गई। पूरी फसल बर्बाद हो गई और बिकने लायक नहीं रही। शर्मा ने बीज बेचने वाले के खिलाफ तीन साल तक कानूनी लड़ाई लड़ी, जिसमें उन्होंने अपने नुकसान और कानूनी खर्चों के लिए ₹2 लाख मांगे। उपभोक्ता फोरम ने उनके पक्ष में फैसला सुनाया और विक्रेता को ₹50,000 का मुआवजा देने का आदेश दिया। शर्मा ने असंतोष जताया और कहा कि यह मुआवजा उनके कानूनी खर्चों और शुरुआती निवेश के नुकसान को भी मुश्किल से कवर करेगा।
