एआईयूडीएफ़ प्रमुख बदरुद्दीन अजमल ने नगांव लोकसभा उपचुनाव के लिए अपना नामांकन दाखिल कर दिया है। उन्होंने जीत का भरोसा जताया है। अजमल ने कहा कि वे सिर्फ अल्पसंख्यकों के लिए नहीं, बल्कि सभी समुदायों के लिए काम करेंगे और दोनों के मुद्दों को उठाएंगे। उनकी प्राथमिकता शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य और बाढ़-कटान नियंत्रण है। उन्होंने असम में कांग्रेस की स्थिति पर भी टिप्पणी की और कहा कि यह भाजपा जैसी ही है।
