Supreme Court to allow firecrackers for specified hours, not 24/7

The Supreme Court has stated it will not impose a complete ban on firecrackers in Delhi-NCR ahead of Diwali, but also will not permit their use for 24 hours a day. A bench of Justices MM Sundresh and PB Varale emphasized the need to balance public health concerns with people's sentiments. The court indicated it would consider allowing fireworks only during specified hours. This decision follows previous regulations aimed at curbing air pollution while accommodating festival celebrations.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा है कि दिवाली से पहले दिल्ली-एनसीआर में पटाखों पर पूरी तरह से रोक नहीं लगाई जाएगी, लेकिन उनका इस्तेमाल 24 घंटे भी नहीं करने दिया जाएगा। जजों की एक बेंच ने कहा कि लोगों की भावनाओं और सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य की चिंताओं के बीच संतुलन बनाना ज़रूरी है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि पटाखों को सिर्फ तय घंटों के लिए चलाने की इजाज़त देने पर विचार किया जाएगा। यह फैसला वायु प्रदूषण को कम करने और त्योहारों को मनाने की ज़रूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए पहले के नियमों के बाद आया है।
