Times Square Durga Utsav Celebrates Bengali Culture, Honours Six US Organisations

The second Times Square Durga Utsav, held on October 10-11 at Father Duffy Square in New York, drew enthusiastic crowds despite adverse weather conditions. The two-day festival served as a reunion for Bengali expatriates from across the US, featuring religious rituals, cultural performances, and music. A significant highlight was the honouring of six US-based organisations that have dedicated at least five decades to preserving Bengali culture and organising Durga Puja. These organisations were recognised for their sustained efforts in maintaining traditions and passing them on to younger generations.

न्यूयॉर्क के फादर डफी स्क्वायर में 10-11 अक्टूबर को आयोजित दूसरा टाइम्स स्क्वायर दुर्गा उत्सव, खराब मौसम के बावजूद उत्साही भीड़ को आकर्षित करने में सफल रहा। दो दिवसीय उत्सव अमेरिका भर के बंगाली प्रवासियों के लिए एक पुनर्मिलन स्थल के रूप में काम आया, जिसमें धार्मिक अनुष्ठान, सांस्कृतिक प्रदर्शन और संगीत शामिल थे। एक महत्वपूर्ण आकर्षण छह अमेरिकी-आधारित संगठनों को सम्मानित करना था, जिन्होंने बंगाली संस्कृति को संरक्षित करने और दुर्गा पूजा आयोजित करने के लिए कम से कम पांच दशक समर्पित किए हैं। इन संगठनों को परंपराओं को बनाए रखने और उन्हें युवा पीढ़ी को सौंपने के उनके निरंतर प्रयासों के लिए मान्यता दी गई।
