India's Rajatarangini, Mahabharata & Arthashastra Gain UN Recognition

Three significant Indian literary and historical works, Kalhana's 'Rajatarangini', the 'Mahabharata', and Kautilya's 'Arthashastra', have been added to Unesco's Memory of the World Regional Register for Asia and the Pacific. The decision was made at the 11th session of the Memory of the World Committee for Asia and the Pacific in Jakarta. This recognition highlights India's rich intellectual heritage, spanning historical writing, philosophy, and governance. These inscriptions, alongside previous additions like the Ramcharitmanas, underscore India's efforts to preserve and promote its manuscript heritage.
