Malkangiri Evacuates 1,154 Amid Heavy Rainfall

Incessant rains in Malkangiri have led to the evacuation of 1,154 people, including 139 pregnant women, from vulnerable areas. Normal life has been disrupted as several bridges are submerged and road connectivity is severed. The district recorded significant rainfall, with Malkangiri receiving 162.2 mm in 24 hours. Authorities have relocated affected villagers to eight safe shelters and are working to clear roads blocked by uprooted trees and landslides. The administration is ensuring food, water, and medical aid for those displaced.

मालकानगिरी में लगातार बारिश से 139 गर्भवती महिलाओं सहित 1,154 लोगों को सुरक्षित जगहों पर पहुंचाया गया है। कई पुल डूब जाने और सड़कें कट जाने से जनजीवन अस्त-व्यस्त हो गया है। मालकानगिरी में 24 घंटे में 162.2 मिमी बारिश दर्ज की गई। प्रशासन ने प्रभावित लोगों को आठ सुरक्षित आश्रयों में रखा है और गिरे हुए पेड़ों व भूस्खलन से अवरुद्ध सड़कों को साफ करने का काम चल रहा है। विस्थापितों को भोजन, पानी और चिकित्सा सहायता दी जा रही है।
