Centre Asks States to Display Healthcare Service Rates Prominently

The Union Health Ministry has directed all States and Union Territories to ensure that clinical establishments prominently display the rates charged for services and facilities. This initiative aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and patient-centric healthcare delivery. Union Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava stated that displaying rates will help patients understand treatment costs, make informed decisions, and minimize billing disputes. The directive also emphasizes transparency for international patients on medical or Ayush visas, strengthening India's position as a medical tourism destination.

स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने सभी राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों को निर्देश दिया है कि वे सुनिश्चित करें कि क्लिनिकल एस्टैब्लिशमेंट सेवाओं और सुविधाओं के लिए ली जाने वाली दरों को प्रमुखता से प्रदर्शित करें। इस पहल का उद्देश्य पारदर्शिता, जवाबदेही और रोगी-केंद्रित स्वास्थ्य सेवा वितरण को बढ़ाना है। स्वास्थ्य सचिव पुण्‍य सलीला श्रीवास्तव ने कहा कि दरें प्रदर्शित करने से मरीजों को इलाज की लागत समझने, सूचित निर्णय लेने और बिलिंग विवादों को कम करने में मदद मिलेगी। निर्देश में मेडिकल या आयुष वीजा पर अंतरराष्ट्रीय मरीजों के लिए पारदर्शिता पर भी जोर दिया गया है, जिससे भारत की मेडिकल टूरिज्म डेस्टिनेशन के रूप में स्थिति मजबूत होगी।
