Concurrently, data from 'The State of India's Birds 2023' reveals a remarkable sixfold increase in the peacock population specifically within Tamil Nadu. Indian foxes, known for their adaptability and role in controlling rodent populations, are losing habitats as barren lands and grasslands are converted for agriculture. This loss of habitat is a primary driver for their decreasing numbers.
