Two Critical PHP Flaws Trigger Global Alert; Millions of Services Face Cyber Risk

Times of India · technology

Two critical PHP vulnerabilities, collectively known as PHP2Shell, have triggered a global cybersecurity alert, potentially exposing millions of internet-facing services to remote code execution without authentication. PHP also advised users to temporarily disable its session upload progress feature to mitigate another remote code execution risk. Security researchers estimate that tens of millions of internet-facing services may be affected by these flaws. The widespread use of PHP in platforms like WordPress means many organizations could be at risk, even if they do not develop PHP applications directly.
