Indian e-commerce platforms generated approximately Rs 24,000 crore in sales during the first two days of the festive season, with mobile phones leading in value. Consultancy firm Redseer estimates that shoppers placed 8-9 crore orders across various platforms. The growth is driven by increased order volumes, with consumers expanding purchases beyond mobiles to fashion, electronics, and appliances. Notably, value fashion and purchases from Tier-II and smaller towns contributed significantly, indicating a widening festive e-commerce market.
