CBI Arrests CPWD Engineer and Four Associates in ₹50 Lakh Bribe Case

The CBI has arrested a CPWD executive engineer, Vikrant Verma, along with his relative and three associates from a real estate group. The arrests were made in connection with an alleged ₹50 lakh bribery case for issuing a no-objection certificate (NOC) for a land parcel in Wadala, Mumbai. The engineer had initially demanded ₹1 crore, later negotiated to ₹70 lakh, through his relative for the NOC. The CBI laid a trap and apprehended the relative with ₹50 lakh, with further searches recovering cash and property documents.

सीबीआई ने सीपी डब्ल्यू डी के कार्यकारी इंजीनियर विक्रांत वर्मा को उनके एक रिश्तेदार और एक रियल एस्टेट समूह के तीन साथियों के साथ गिरफ्तार किया है। यह गिरफ्तारी मुंबई के वडाला में एक जमीन के टुकड़े के लिए अनापत्ति प्रमाण पत्र (NOC) जारी करने के कथित ₹50 लाख की रिश्वतखोरी मामले में हुई है। इंजीनियर ने शुरू में NOC के लिए अपने रिश्तेदार के माध्यम से ₹1 करोड़ की मांग की थी, जिसे बाद में ₹70 लाख में तय किया गया। सीबीआई ने जाल बिछाकर ₹50 लाख के साथ रिश्तेदार को पकड़ा, और आगे की तलाशी में नकदी और संपत्ति के दस्तावेज बरामद हुए।
