Indian Oil to Cut West Asian Oil Imports Amid Iran War Uncertainty

Business Standard · business

Indian Oil Corp (IOC) plans to reduce its West Asian oil purchases under annual deals by 2027/28 due to supply uncertainties caused by the ongoing Iran war. Refiners traditionally depend on West Asia for over half their crude, but disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and attacks on vessels have forced a shift. IOC had planned to source about 47% of its crude imports from West Asian producers for the financial year ending March 2027.
