AAP Announces First List For 2027 Punjab Polls, Includes Jailed Minister

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has revealed its initial candidate list for the 2027 Punjab assembly elections, renominating all 40 incumbent MLAs. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will again contest from Dhuri. Notably, jailed minister Sanjeev Arora, arrested in May 2026, is fielded from Ludhiana West, with AAP defending the decision due to his contributions. Assembly speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan is also renominated. The early announcement aims to provide candidates ample time to connect with voters and prevent party MLAs from switching sides.

आम आदमी पार्टी (AAP) ने 2027 पंजाब विधानसभा चुनावों के लिए अपने शुरुआती उम्मीदवारों की सूची जारी कर दी है, जिसमें सभी 40 मौजूदा विधायकों को फिर से टिकट दिया गया है। मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान एक बार फिर धूरी से चुनाव लड़ेंगे। खास बात यह है कि मई 2026 में गिरफ्तार हुए जेल में बंद मंत्री संजीव अरोड़ा को लुधियाना पश्चिम से मैदान में उतारा गया है, AAP ने उनके योगदान को देखते हुए इस फैसले का बचाव किया है। विधानसभा अध्यक्ष कुलतार सिंह संधवां को भी फिर से टिकट दिया गया है। इस जल्दी घोषणा का उद्देश्य उम्मीदवारों को मतदाताओं से जुड़ने के लिए पर्याप्त समय देना और पार्टी विधायकों को पाला बदलने से रोकना है।
