New MPSC Secretary Appointed Amid Paper Leak Allegations

IAS officer Saurabh Katiyar has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC), taking additional charge as Mumbai Suburban Collector. His appointment comes amid a paper leak row that has led to protests by aspirants and a judicial inquiry. The previous secretary was transferred, and the MPSC chairman went on compulsory leave pending investigation. Katiyar, an IIT Kanpur alumnus and 2016 batch IAS officer, previously served as Collector of Amravati.

आई.ए.एस. अधिकारी सौरभ कटियार को महाराष्ट्र लोक सेवा आयोग (एम.पी.एस.सी.) का नया सचिव नियुक्त किया गया है, साथ ही वे मुंबई उपनगर कलेक्टर का अतिरिक्त प्रभार भी संभालेंगे। उनकी नियुक्ति ऐसे समय में हुई है जब पेपर लीक विवाद के कारण परीक्षार्थियों ने विरोध प्रदर्शन किया है और न्यायिक जांच चल रही है। पिछले सचिव का तबादला कर दिया गया था, और एम.पी.एस.सी. के अध्यक्ष जांच लंबित रहने तक अनिवार्य छुट्टी पर चले गए थे। आई.आई.टी. कानपुर के पूर्व छात्र और 2016 बैच के आई.ए.एस. अधिकारी कटियार, इससे पहले अमरावती के कलेक्टर के रूप में कार्य कर चुके हैं।
