India-China Border Stability Crucial For Normal Ties, Says EAM Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated that a stable border is essential for normalizing relations with China, emphasizing that the absence of an agreed border has been a long-standing issue. He noted that while peace prevailed on the border from 1975 to 2020, the 2020 clash resulted in casualties and significantly impacted the relationship. Jaishankar highlighted that restoring peace and tranquillity took four years of negotiations.

विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर ने कहा कि चीन के साथ रिश्तों को सामान्य बनाने के लिए सीमा पर स्थिरता बहुत ज़रूरी है। उन्होंने इस बात पर ज़ोर दिया कि एक सहमत सीमा का न होना एक पुरानी समस्या रही है। उन्होंने बताया कि 1975 से 2020 तक सीमा पर शांति थी, लेकिन 2020 में हुई झड़प में हताहत हुए और इससे रिश्तों पर गहरा असर पड़ा। जयशंकर ने कहा कि शांति और स्थिरता बहाल करने में चार साल की बातचीत लगी।
