Apple Pay has officially launched in India, bringing its contactless payment service to the country after years of global expansion. Initially, the service will support Axis Bank-issued Visa and Mastercard credit cards. Users can make payments at various in-store and online merchants that accept NFC transactions, including popular brands like Blinkit, Croma, and Zomato. Apple emphasizes enhanced security through a unique Device Account Number, ensuring card details are not stored on the device or shared with merchants. Payments can be made using iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches.
