Mobile Retailers to Boycott UPI Payments on October

The All India Mobile Retailers Association has announced a 'No UPI Day' to protest the MDR charges. They argue that a 0.4% MDR on transactions over ₹2,000 will significantly increase costs for mobile retailers. This burden, they claim, will ultimately be passed on to customers. To express their dissent, retailers plan to cover QR codes with black cloth on the protest day.

ऑल इंडिया मोबाइल रिटेलर्स एसोसिएशन ने MDR चार्ज के विरोध में 'नो UPI डे' की घोषणा की है। उनका तर्क है कि ₹2,000 से ज़्यादा के ट्रांज़ैक्शन पर 0.4% MDR मोबाइल रिटेलर्स के लिए लागत को काफी बढ़ा देगा। उनका दावा है कि यह बोझ आखिरकार ग्राहकों पर ही पड़ेगा। अपने विरोध को व्यक्त करने के लिए, रिटेलर्स विरोध के दिन QR कोड को काले कपड़े से ढकने की योजना बना रहे हैं।
