Opposition Slams Detentions During Protest, Calls It 'Worse Than Emergency'

Opposition leaders have strongly condemned the detention of hundreds of protesters, journalists, and activists in Delhi during demonstrations demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal stated that the situation is worse than the Emergency and that India is living under an absolute dictatorship ruled by Modi. He accused the ruling party of protecting electoral fraud by suppressing democracy. Kejriwal demanded the resignation of both Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

विपक्षी नेताओं ने दिल्ली में सैकड़ों प्रदर्शनकारियों, पत्रकारों और कार्यकर्ताओं को चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञान प्रकाश के इस्तीफे की मांग को लेकर हुए प्रदर्शनों के दौरान हिरासत में लिए जाने की कड़ी निंदा की है। आम आदमी पार्टी के प्रमुख अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि यह स्थिति आपातकाल से भी बदतर है और भारत मोदी द्वारा शासित पूर्ण तानाशाही के अधीन जी रहा है। उन्होंने सत्तारूढ़ दल पर लोकतंत्र का दमन करके चुनावी धोखाधड़ी को बचाने का आरोप लगाया। केजरीवाल ने कुमार और प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी दोनों के इस्तीफे की मांग की।
