Bihar has inaugurated a new parallel double railway bridge over the Ganga River in Mokama, built at a cost of approximately ₹2,400 crore. This 1.86 to 1.9 km long bridge significantly strengthens connectivity between North-South Bihar and the northeastern states. Previously, trains crawled at 40-50 km/h on the old single track, causing long delays. The new future-ready track will allow trains to travel at 140 km/h, saving considerable passenger time and enhancing strategic military movement towards the China-Myanmar border.
