An Indiana man, Rick Sparks, transformed his initial plan for a single Hobbit house into an 11-building fantasy village called Rackshire. Originally intended as a weekend getaway on a 3.5-acre property, the village now serves as his residence. Constructed over seven years using mostly recycled lumber and secondhand materials, the village features Tolkienesque elements like turf roofs and stone fireplaces. Sparks, inspired by his childhood love for Tolkien's works, has seen significant visitor interest, drawing over 3,000 people to his first festival.
