AIIB to Boost Water Financing in India

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) plans to significantly increase its water financing in India due to worsening El Niño conditions, which are causing the driest monsoon since 2009. The bank aims to fund critical water infrastructure and offer policy-based loans to improve water sector governance. India, AIIB's largest recipient, faces a 15% monsoon rainfall deficit this season, with states like Maharashtra and Karnataka already reporting drought-like conditions. AIIB's focus includes treated wastewater reuse and micro-irrigation, aiming to unlock substantial investment opportunities in the sector.

एशियाई इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर इन्वेस्टमेंट बैंक (AIIB) भारत में पानी के लिए फंडिंग बढ़ाने की सोच रहा है। अल नीनो की वजह से इस साल 2009 के बाद सबसे सूखा मानसून रहा है। AIIB पानी के ज़रूरी प्रोजेक्ट्स में पैसा लगाएगा और पानी के सिस्टम को बेहतर बनाने के लिए लोन भी देगा। भारत को सबसे ज़्यादा AIIB से मदद मिलती है, लेकिन इस बार मानसून में 15% कम बारिश हुई है। महाराष्ट्र और कर्नाटक जैसे राज्यों में सूखे जैसे हालात हैं। AIIB पानी को दोबारा इस्तेमाल करने और छोटी सिंचाई योजनाओं पर भी ध्यान देगा।
