Civil Servants Urged to Uphold Constitution, Resist Partisan Objectives
The Hindu · india
A collective of former All-India Services officials, the Constitutional Conduct Group (CCG), has urged serving civil servants to uphold the Constitution. The CCG alleged that many civil servants have surrendered their independence to allow partisan objectives to succeed, with constitutional values being breached and dissent labelled 'anti-national'. The group cited several government policies and actions over the past decade as examples of constitutional ethics being disregarded. They also accused central agencies of complicity in harassing individuals and institutions perceived as opposing the government.
