India has strongly objected to a UN report concerning youth rights and protests, with its representative Anuj Swarup calling it 'rumours presented as a report'. Swarup stated that accusing the entire youth population based on unverified claims is incorrect and undermines the UN's credibility. The report, prepared by UN Special Rapporteur Gina Romero, alleged that Indian youth face repercussions for expressing views on mental health and gender justice. India defended its citizens' rights to assembly and expression, citing its constitution and independent institutions, and questioned the report's methodology and impartiality.

भारत ने युवा अधिकारों और विरोध प्रदर्शनों से संबंधित एक यूएन रिपोर्ट पर कड़ा ऐतराज जताया है। इसके प्रतिनिधि अनुज स्वरूप ने इसे 'रिपोर्ट के रूप में पेश की गई अफवाहें' कहा। स्वरूप ने कहा कि बिना जाँची-परखी बातों के आधार पर पूरे युवा समुदाय पर आरोप लगाना गलत है और यह यूएन की विश्वसनीयता को कमज़ोर करता है। यूएन स्पेशल रैपोर्टर जीना रोमेरो द्वारा तैयार की गई इस रिपोर्ट में आरोप लगाया गया था कि भारतीय युवाओं को मानसिक स्वास्थ्य और लैंगिक न्याय पर अपनी राय व्यक्त करने पर परिणाम भुगतने पड़ते हैं।
