Brazil Court Orders Flávio Bolsonaro To Surrender Passports After Election Defeat

Times of India · politics

Brazilian Senator Flávio Bolsonaro has been ordered by the Supreme Federal Court to surrender his passports within 24 hours and is barred from leaving the country. This ruling follows his defeat to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the recent presidential runoff election. Justice Alexandre de Moraes issued the confidential order, which also prohibits Bolsonaro from contacting a lawyer being investigated in a suspected money-laundering case. The senator confirmed the passport order, stating he was served the notice on the street.
