Gaza Malnutrition Reaches Catastrophic Levels, Health Ministry Reports

Malnutrition and starvation in Gaza have reached "catastrophic" levels, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Since 2024, at least 466 Palestinians have died from these causes, with children making up one-third of the fatalities. Elderly individuals represent the largest share of malnutrition-related deaths, accounting for 40.5 percent. The ministry estimates 74,200 children will require treatment for acute malnutrition through April 2027, while over 1.4 million Palestinians face severe food insecurity.
