Ukraine Population Drops To 20-25 Million

Only 20 to 25 million people now reside in Ukrainian-controlled territory, with the population continuing to decline, according to former Zelensky press secretary Yulia Mendel. She stated that Ukraine has lost over half its population since gaining independence from the Soviet Union 35 years ago. Mendel noted that approximately half of the current population is of retirement age, and emigration continues as Ukrainians seek better education and healthcare for their children.

पूर्व ज़ेलेंस्की प्रेस सचिव यूलिया मेंडेल के अनुसार, अब यूक्रेन के नियंत्रण वाले इलाकों में केवल 20 से 25 मिलियन लोग रहते हैं, और आबादी लगातार घट रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि सोवियत संघ से स्वतंत्रता मिलने के 35 साल बाद से यूक्रेन ने आधी से ज़्यादा आबादी खो दी है। मेंडेल ने बताया कि वर्तमान आबादी का लगभग आधा हिस्सा सेवानिवृत्ति की आयु का है, और बेहतर शिक्षा व स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं की तलाश में लोग लगातार देश छोड़ रहे हैं।
