Kerala CM Satheesan Uses Chanakya's Arthashastra For Tax Strategy

Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan has invoked Chanakya's 'Arthashastra', comparing tax collection to a butterfly drawing nectar without disturbing a flower. He explained this strategy aims to boost revenue without increasing taxes, citing a reduction in electric vehicle taxes which led to increased sales and higher tax collection. Satheesan stated that increasing taxes is not the solution, but rather stimulating economic activity and investment. The state recorded a 27% growth in GST collection in October, surpassing the national average.

केरल के मुख्यमंत्री वी डी सतीशण ने चाणक्य के 'अर्थशास्त्र' का हवाला देते हुए कहा कि टैक्स वसूली ऐसी होनी चाहिए जैसे कोई तितली फूल से रस ले ले लेकिन फूल को कोई नुकसान न हो। उन्होंने समझाया कि इस रणनीति का मकसद टैक्स बढ़ाए बिना राजस्व बढ़ाना है। उन्होंने इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों पर टैक्स कम करने का उदाहरण दिया, जिससे बिक्री बढ़ी और टैक्स कलेक्शन में भी इजाफा हुआ। सतीशण ने कहा कि टैक्स बढ़ाना समाधान नहीं है, बल्कि आर्थिक गतिविधियों और निवेश को बढ़ावा देना चाहिए। राज्य में अक्टूबर में GST कलेक्शन में 27% की वृद्धि दर्ज की गई, जो राष्ट्रीय औसत से अधिक है।
