The right hand of the Rani Channamma statue in Kittur, which had accidentally fallen off, has been repaired by the Belagavi district administration. Workers refitted the hand, cleaned and soldered missing parts, and restored the sword to its place. The repairs were completed within hours of the incident, which occurred on Monday night. This urgent repair was necessary as the State-level Kittur Utsav is scheduled to begin on Friday. The 50-foot tall equestrian statue, unveiled in 1997, stands near the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway.
