Qualcomm has unveiled its latest flagship chipsets, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, focusing on on-device AI, enhanced imaging, and power efficiency. These chips are designed for next-generation premium smartphones, including upcoming Xiaomi devices. Key advancements include pixel-level subject detection for improved photography and the ability to run large language models with up to 30 billion parameters directly on the device. This on-device AI processing offers lower latency, enhanced privacy, and greater reliability, even with inconsistent network connectivity.
