Approximately 5,600 chickens have died mysteriously across six poultry farms in Cuddalore district over the past five days, just before the Diwali festival. Initial laboratory tests have ruled out bird flu as the cause of death. Authorities are awaiting further results to determine if toxins in the feed samples are responsible. Farm owners have suffered significant financial losses, and as a precaution, all poultry sales and new chick stocking are prohibited in the affected zone for three months.
