Congress workers staged protests in multiple cities demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Police used water cannons to disperse demonstrators in Patna and Chandigarh. Protests occurred in states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and West Bengal, with demands ranging from Kumar's dismissal to FIRs against him. The Indian Youth Congress also launched an online petition. These demonstrations follow reports of Election Commissioners raising objections to decisions made during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
