सरकारी कंपनी कोचीन शिपयार्ड लिमिटेड को अमेरिका, जर्मनी और नॉर्वे सहित अंतरराष्ट्रीय ग्राहकों से 40 से ज़्यादा जहाज़ों के ऑर्डर मिले हैं, यह घोषणा शिपिंग मंत्री सर्बानंद सोनोवाल ने की। ऑर्डर की यह बड़ी संख्या वैश्विक जहाज़ निर्माण में भारत की बढ़ती विश्वसनीयता और क्षमता को दर्शाती है। रूसी संस्थाओं ने भी भारतीय शिपयार्ड के साथ सहयोग में रुचि दिखाई है। पत्तन, पोत परिवहन और जलमार्ग मंत्रालय इस क्षेत्र के लिए एक सहायक पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र को सक्रिय रूप से बढ़ावा दे रहा है, जिसका उद्देश्य भारत की जहाज़ निर्माण क्षमता और अंतरराष्ट्रीय साझेदारी को बढ़ावा देना है।
