Filmmaker Sulagna Chatterjee has criticised the Bollywood Music Project organisers for abruptly stopping singer Shilpa Rao's performance on October 24. Chatterjee recounted that Rao's microphone failed, lights went off, and another act began while she was still on stage. Despite technical issues, Rao performed four songs before being cut off mid-farewell. Chatterjee questioned why Himesh Reshammiya was allowed to continue his performance despite schedule delays, asking why Shilpa Rao was not given similar consideration. Attendees expressed disappointment over the handling of Rao's set.
