Unesco Team to Assess Hampi Conservation Efforts

A Unesco monitoring team will visit Hampi and surrounding heritage areas to 29 to review conservation efforts and master plan implementation. The team, including heritage experts from Kenya and Japan, will inspect historic monuments and assess compliance with World Heritage Site guidelines. This visit follows concerns raised since Hampi was added to the World Heritage List in 1986 and later placed on the List of World Heritage in Danger in 1999.
