An Iowa man who lost $700,000 in a vacation-rental investment, which he believed was a Ponzi scheme, has been ordered to pay his former wife $351,446. The Court of Appeals of Iowa upheld this property division equalization payment after a marriage of nearly seven years. The husband had appealed the divorce decree, disputing income calculations and asset valuations. Without this payment, his ex-wife would have received a significantly smaller share of their combined assets, ensuring a more equitable distribution.
