A Gen Z group, Students For Streeties, has urged the Karnataka government to prioritise Animal Birth Control and Anti-Rabies Vaccination programmes over establishing five dog pounds in Bengaluru. The students appealed to CM DK Shivakumar and Rahul Gandhi to reconsider permanent confinement facilities for community dogs. They suggested using existing infrastructure for sterilisation, vaccination, and rehabilitation, with responsible release. The group also called for transparency on proposed facilities and advocated for public funds to be directed towards expanding ABC and ARV programmes across all 31 districts.
