US Inmate Seeks Special Diet In Tihar Jail

American national Matthew VanDyke, arrested by NIA for alleged drone training, has requested permission to cook his own meals in Delhi's Tihar Jail. He claims the jail food is unsuitable and has been on a hunger strike. Tihar Jail, housing over 20,000 inmates, follows a fixed diet plan. A Delhi court will hear his plea for a special diet on July 21.

अमेरिकी नागरिक मैथ्यू वैनडाइक, जिसे NIA ने ड्रोन ट्रेनिंग के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया है, ने दिल्ली की तिहाड़ जेल में अपना खाना खुद पकाने की इजाजत मांगी है। उसका कहना है कि जेल का खाना उसके लिए ठीक नहीं है और वह भूख हड़ताल पर है। 20,000 से ज़्यादा कैदियों वाली तिहाड़ जेल में एक तय डाइट प्लान चलता है। दिल्ली की एक अदालत 21 जुलाई को उसके विशेष आहार की अर्जी पर सुनवाई करेगी।
