Indian stock markets experienced a sharp reversal, with the Sensex plunging over 1,300 points from its day's high and the Nifty falling below 23,200. This significant downturn wiped out approximately Rs 9 lakh crore from the total market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies. The decline was attributed to rising US Treasury yields crossing 5%, renewed fears of inflation due to climbing oil prices, and expectations of further US Federal Reserve rate hikes.

भारतीय शेयर बाज़ारों में भारी गिरावट आई। Sensex अपने दिन के उच्चतम स्तर से 1,300 से ज़्यादा अंक गिर गया और Nifty 23,200 के नीचे चला गया। इससे BSE की कंपनियों का कुल मार्केट कैप लगभग 9 लाख करोड़ रुपये कम हो गया। यह गिरावट अमेरिकी ट्रेजरी यील्ड के 5% पार जाने, तेल की बढ़ती कीमतों से महंगाई का डर और अमेरिकी फेडरल रिज़र्व द्वारा ब्याज दरें बढ़ाने की उम्मीदों के कारण हुई।
