An elderly man climbed a water tank in Kannauj district to protest an alleged illegal encroachment that has blocked a village road for 13 years. Ratiram, a resident of Behata village, resorted to this extreme measure after his repeated complaints to officials yielded no action. He stated that local strongmen had encroached upon the chak road, preventing villagers from accessing their fields. Officials were alerted and persuaded him to come down after assuring him of an investigation and action. Ratiram warned of suicide if the encroachment was not removed.

कन्नौज जिले में एक बुजुर्ग ने कथित अवैध अतिक्रमण के विरोध में पानी की टंकी पर चढ़ाई कर दी, जिसने 13 साल से गांव की सड़क को अवरुद्ध कर रखा है। बेहटा गांव के निवासी, रतिराम ने अधिकारियों से बार-बार शिकायत करने के बाद कोई कार्रवाई न होने पर यह चरम कदम उठाया। उन्होंने कहा कि स्थानीय दबंगों ने चक रोड पर अतिक्रमण कर लिया है, जिससे ग्रामीणों को अपने खेतों तक पहुंचने में दिक्कत हो रही है। अधिकारियों को सूचित किया गया और जांच और कार्रवाई का आश्वासन देने के बाद उन्हें नीचे उतरने के लिए मना लिया गया। रतिराम ने चेतावनी दी कि अगर अतिक्रमण नहीं हटाया गया तो वह आत्महत्या कर लेंगे।
