Veteran Tusker Abhimanyu Gets Emotional Farewell In Final Dasara Appearance

Veteran tusker Abhimanyu received an affectionate farewell during his final appearance in the Mysuru Dasara procession on Wednesday, October 21. He led the procession as the 'Nishane Ane' and was given a rousing welcome by a large number of people. Abhimanyu retired from active duties after turning 60 this year. However, the Forest Department permitted his participation one last time in recognition of his invaluable service to Mysuru Dasara for over two decades. Prashanth will now succeed him as the golden howdah elephant.

बुधवार, 21 अक्टूबर को मैसूरु दशहरा जुलूस में अनुभवी हाथी अभिमन्यु को स्नेह भरी विदाई दी गई। उन्होंने 'निशान ऐने' के तौर पर जुलूस का नेतृत्व किया और बड़ी संख्या में लोगों ने उनका जोरदार स्वागत किया। अभिमन्यु ने इस साल 60 साल के होने के बाद सक्रिय ड्यूटी से संन्यास ले लिया। हालांकि, वन विभाग ने दो दशकों से अधिक समय तक मैसूरु दशहरा के लिए उनकी अमूल्य सेवा की पहचान के तौर पर उन्हें आखिरी बार भाग लेने की अनुमति दी। अब प्रशांत उनके उत्तराधिकारी के तौर पर गोल्डन हौदा हाथी बनेंगे।
