The Andaman & Nicobar administration initially sought expressions of interest for data centre exploration on Great Nicobar Island. This initiative is part of a larger ₹91,000 crore mega-infrastructure project. The project includes building an airport, a transshipment port, and a tourism township. However, local Nicobarese communities have already voiced opposition to the extensive development plans.
