Migratory Cranes Alter Route To Rajasthan, Shortening Journey By 1200 Km
News18 Hindi · india
Foreign migratory cranes, typically arriving from Russia and Mongolia, have changed their migration route to Rajasthan this year. Instead of passing through Nepal, they are now travelling via Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Gujarat, reducing their journey by approximately 1200 kilometers. This shift is believed to be a strategy to avoid risks associated with cyclones, strong winds, and changing air currents in the Himalayan region. Local conservationists are providing food and water to the birds, whose natural food sources have been impacted by reduced rainfall.
