Former Minister and JD(S) leader H.D. Revanna has alleged irregularities in the tender process for works related to the Hasanamba Jatra Mahotsava in Hassan. He stated that despite a severe drought, the district administration is incurring huge unnecessary expenses on the festival, with tenders reportedly being awarded to the same person annually. Revanna highlighted specific costs, including ₹35 lakh for welcoming arches, ₹98 lakh for lighting, and ₹8 lakh for publicity flexes, calling for transparency and devotion over grandeur.
