RJD, Congress Differences Deepen Over Council Poll Stakes

Differences between the RJD and Congress over legislative council seats in Bihar have intensified, with the RJD announcing a candidate for the Darbhanga teacher constituency, previously held by a Congress MLC. This move sets up direct contests between the two parties in five out of eight seats. The RJD is now contesting seven seats, leaving only one for its ally CPI. The Congress faces a significant challenge as its candidate is a former state chief and the party's sole MLC.

बिहार में विधान परिषद की सीटों को लेकर राजद और कांग्रेस के बीच मतभेद बढ़ गए हैं। राजद ने दरभंगा शिक्षक निर्वाचन क्षेत्र के लिए एक उम्मीदवार की घोषणा की है, जो पहले कांग्रेस के एमएलसी के पास था। इस कदम से दोनों पार्टियों के बीच आठ में से पांच सीटों पर सीधी टक्कर होगी। राजद अब सात सीटों पर चुनाव लड़ रहा है, केवल एक सीट अपने सहयोगी सीपीआई के लिए छोड़ी है। कांग्रेस के सामने एक बड़ी चुनौती है क्योंकि उसका उम्मीदवार पूर्व राज्य प्रमुख और पार्टी का एकमात्र एमएलसी है।
