Bengaluru BLOs Await New Voter Hearing Rules

Bengaluru's booth-level officers (BLOs) have yet to receive new Election Commission guidelines for voter verification, despite the Chief Electoral Officer's office circulating them. The revised rules aim to make the process more voter-friendly by having BLOs visit homes for document collection and processing, with online hearings only in exceptional cases. However, BLOs express concerns about the increased time required for door-to-door visits and practical difficulties. Currently, the older system of calling voters to hearing centers continues in many areas.
