Pakistan authorities have sealed major roads into Islamabad, including the Islamabad-Peshawar and Islamabad-Dera Ismail Khan Motorways, to prevent supporters of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan from reaching the capital. The indefinite closures aim to block a planned march by Khan's party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), demanding his release. Khan has been jailed since August 2023, with his party claiming the convictions are politically motivated.
